After read Romeo & Juliet

  "Romeo and Juliet" is really famous story in whole world. I think many people know this story even though they aren't interested in literature. In fact, I have never read this story even though I already knew the content of this story because I heard when other people talked about the content. Although, I haven't read this story, I have seen the video of this part that we studied recently. It was fun.

 I like this part because their love looks like very pure and innocent. Juliet is about to fall in love with Romeo as she just hears his voice.. what a sweet!
However, I think this part shows not only how sweet their love, but also the situation of that time.
Each families are enemies, so it's too difficult to achieve their love.. it's a little bit weird as present conception, isn't it? Probably, some families' conflict was very strong at that time.

 Anyway, I enjoyed reading this part of "Romeo and Juliet" Thank Nathan for giving me chance to read this story!

Daniel Kahneman- Happiness

Now, I understand D. Kahneman speech.

His thinking is interesting. He said that our "experiencing self" and "remembering self" are sometimes different, and in this situation "remembering self" is more dominated.
I think it's a kind of true. In my opinion, the reason "remembering self" is more dominated is that when you remember some memories, you know more thing compared to when you experienced the memory.

For example, when I was a high school student, I thought my life was so difficult.
(In Korea, the competition of entering university is very strong because Korea has small land, but lots of population.)
But now, I sometimes want to return to be a high school student, because now I've experienced social life is harder than high school life. Earning money is not that easy. :)  This situation is caused by I have experienced many thing after I graduated from high school.

To conclude, if I have never experienced anything after I experience one thing, my "remembering self" also recognizes same as when I experince the thing. (It'squite a messy sentence.. :(  )
I mean "remembering self" is changed by our "later experiences".

After read "Beowulf"

It's too difficult to understand. I know the movie "Beowulf" showed in the past, but I actually don't know the content. I think we usually study difficult literary works like the past's writings!

2001: A Space Odyssey

 It's quite difficult to understand this movie. I think the movie director probably wants to show how much our technology has been improved, and will be improved in the future.
Honestly, I saw the movie uninterestingly. It wasn't my favorite style of movie. Especially, I still don't understand the last part of movie. Nevertheless, there is a interesting point of this movie. The most interesting part for me is that the thing "Hal" said to Dave.
When Dave wonders Hal has some problem, Hal says to Dave that Hal doesn't have any problem, and he also doesn't make any mistakes. Additionally, he says if there is a problem, it's caused by human.
This part was very interesting to me because Hal already has a kind of human mind. Hal doesn't open the door because he knows Dave will disconnect him. Hal is afraid he die. It is funny for me even though Hal has a human mind, he thinks he won't make any mistakes.

The message I get from this movie is that people are controlled by technology which we have made.
At first, the people look like gorilla first use the tools. At that time, they controll the tools. However, in the spaceship, people are controlled by the technology. People are very weak in front of uncontrolled technology. I think we have to be careful about our future when we make new technology.

Interview

Sorry to late update! :(

 I tried to interview 5 people, but 3 people rejected my ask, so I just interviewed 2 people. I think people were so busy.. Actually, ,my interview wasn't successful. Probably, because my interview wasn'y successful, funnily, I was thinking how I'll do if I interview people next time while I interviewed people.

 I was nervous, so I tried to interview the people who are alone. Because if there are many people, the situation makes me more nervous. I think it was my problem. The interviewee is also nervous when they are interviewed if the person is alone. So, I should have interviewed the people who were together. I think couples are good. Maybe the boyfriends are willing to answer about the interview because they are in front of their girlfriends. (Boyfriends have to show their good personalities!!)
 I'll do better next time even though I don't want to interview people anymore.. hahaha

Anyway, people has different chararcters about writing, but I could guess their characters a little before I interviewed them.
I interviewed 1 girl, and 1 man. At first, I met the girl in the SUB food court. She was using her cellphone constantly. She likes using Facebook.
On the other hand, the man doesn't use Facebook at all. Interestingly, I met him at Rose Garden. (I went to very far place..) He likes Rose Garden because it makes him relaxed. Yes, Rose Garend is quite calm place. Probably, Facebook doesn't make him relaxed.. I guess..

Frankly speaking, this activity wasn't interesting! I was scared when I tried to interview people.
I hope Nathan doesn't give interview activity anymore! :)

Black Swan

 I saw the movie "Black Swan" last weekend. After the movie premiered, my two close friends strongly have recommended that I see the movie, but I finally watched it last weekend.
For me, "Black Swan" was a little creepy. The main actress injures herself many times. I stopped many times for I saw the movie.. I'm not good at watching nasty, creepy and horible movies..
When I was watching the movie, I texted a friend who recommended "Black Swan", and blamed him because he has already known that I'm not good at watching this kind of movie! He looked joyful. hahaha.
Anyway, except some scenes that the actress injures herself, whole story and ballet acting were so nice!

Response: "The Epic of Gilgamesh."

At first, this story is very difficult for me to understand. The reason is probably that this story is written by English, However, my cousin tried to read this story but she gave up quickly because she thought this story is very difficult even though she can use English very well!

When I was young, I was intersted in history (Korea history and World history both), so I approximatively know the beginning of this story, but it wasn't easy to understand.
This stroy seems as if the two stories, Noah's ark and Gilgamesh story, connect together.
I didn't know these stories are relevant..

Anyway, in my opinion, this story shows it is impossible for human to surpass the limitation of human abilities.
Gilgamesh fails to get eternal life, and most people except Atra-hasis died when the big Deluge happened.
Human is so weak in front of nature. Human just can live in our abilities.

The Killers - What do you think George, Nick, Ole Anderson, Max, and Al will do after the story ends?

• In the beginning of this story, George looks like he isn’t good at understanding the atmosphere, so he asks Max what Max will do. However, at the last part of story, he says to Nick “You better not think about it.”  At first, George actually tries to help Ole Anderson can escape the bad situation, but George changes his mind that deciding to forget about Max & Al’s plan because Ole Anderson looks like he doesn’t want to escape the situation.

• Nick says to George that he will get out of the town because he doesn’t want to see Ole Anderson will be killed by Max & Al. However, he just says like that nevertheless he doesn’t want get out of the town. Probably, he wants to express his mind strongly at that time. He will try to help Ole Anderson constantly before Ole Anderson will be killed even though O. Anderson doesn't want it.

• Ole Anderson will be killed by Max & Al, but not soon. Ole Anderson seems as if he has already been waiting for his death. He undestands all this situation.

• Al thinks they (he and Max) tell their plan too much, so he will behave more carefully. At first, he will understand how the situation is going (because they tell their plan too much) and then, he will start to act. Anyway, he will kill Ole Anderson. The situation will be going to well for Al because O. Anderson has already been waiting for Al & Max.

• Max isn’t cautious person. He is a kind of impulsive person. He will instigate Al to kill Ole Anderson as soon as possible, but he will follow Al’s opinion. Al’s power looks a little stronger than Max’s.

Hills Like White Elephants - Discuss how the male protagnist changed

When she says “They look like white elephants”, his response is just that “I’ve never seen one”. It seems as if he doesn’t concern about her comment, and he doesn’t look like he is interested in talking with her. He feels a little annoyed to her because he doesn’t want to talk about that. However, he changes his attitude a little after they talk about their pro-born baby,.

             Then, he recommends that she take an operation to get rid of the baby. His attitude is very direct at that time. As soon as the topic comes up, he tells his opinion quickly. In addition, he insists his opinion quite strongly. He says “It’s the only thing that’s made us unhappy.

             I think he just pretends to not interested in talking with the girl because he knows they would talk about this topic (abortion or not) some time, and the girl has a different opinion with him.

             He changes his opinion from getting the abortion to not getting the abortion if she really doesn’t want even though he actually wants she has the abortion. Moreover, he actually stops talking when she asks him. He shows a little weak figure. He is concerned about her feeling compared to his former figure.

             In my opinion, he changes be warm to her.

This movie, "Being There", is very funny.

This movie, "Being There", is very funny.

 I saw this movie really really interestingly. I wasn't able to stop laughing.
Chance is very funny man. Chance’s behaviors are matching my tendency that the points I feel fun.
 Chance is similar to one of my friends. My friend says something very funny compared to other people. When he says something, he doesn’t smile or laugh and he looks very serious even though he says funny things. It is a kind of his feature and I like that.

 Some people look they have obsessions that they always have to find the message from a movie.
 However, I don't dare to find it, and I just enjoy watching the movie as a movie. Of course, the directors can put some messages into the movies, but I think the most important goals of movie directors are that making audiences get interested in their movies. Considering this point, this movie really succeeds. Chance’s innocent behaviors and speeches make me have a fun. I’m glad to see this movie.

Compared to General Hsueh Sung and General Tien Cheng-tze

 General H.S is a sensitive and kind man. He noticed a drummer's feeling by listening to drum's sound, and then he allowed the drummer to go his wife's funeral. Considering personality, he is a nice man.
However, he isn't decisive as a governor. He doesn't like war, and he doesn't prepare anything for the war. So, he can be only embarrassed when he hears General T.C is about to attack his counrty even though finally, H.S successes to protect the peace between him and T.C.

On the other hand, General T.C is very calculative as a governor.
He isn't afraid of fighting a war, and he trains his soldiers systematically.
As soon as he notices Red Thread could kill him, he changes his plan quickly that attacking H.S's country and accepts peace.

Something I'm interested in

  I like watching baseball. I'm interested in especially Korean pro baseball league and I'm also interested in several Korean players who play in Japanese pro league and American pro league.
  When I was in Korea, I somtimes used to go baseball stadium to watch the game. 
The reason I'm interested in baseball is probably that the baseball games make lots of stats compared to other sports. It is interesting comparing stats of each players.
  However, I'm not interested in playing baseball because it is too difficult. On the other hand, I prefer playing basketball and soccer to playing baseball. I just like watching baseball.

What Writing Means to Me

Do you enjoy writing?

 Honestly, I don't enjoy writing, but I like writing letters to my friend when their birthdays or big holidays.
In addition, I'm trying to write journal everyday even though I sometimes feel tired.


Do you keep a diary in your language?

 Yes, I do. I'm trying to write journal everyday, but I'm failing.. However, I try to write journal as possible as I can.


Do you avoid writing whenever you can?

 Yes, I sometimes avoid. If I have enough time, I don't hurry. It means I avoid as possible as I can.


What positive role could writing as a process play in your life?

 The best point of writing is that when I'm not sure about my opinions, thinkings and feelings, I can arrange them while I'm writing.
